About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

12 hour layover in Shanghai

American passport holders
LAX -> Shanghai -> Denpasar

We have a 12 hour layover both ways. Will we be able to leave the airport and travel into Shanghai for tourism purposes?

Shanghai probably not unless you have overnight with hotel reservation
