Canadian going to cruise ship from Japan to Hong Kong entering Shanghai for a tour day. Need VISA?

Leonora, if you would travel like Japan-Hong Kong-Shanghai-another country or region instead of HK, you can enjoy 24h twov in Shanghai. No visa will be required.
