About:China Tourist Visa

I am foreign student living in Shanghai

I want to invite my boyfriend over here, what type of visa should he ask and how can we proceed?

He can apply for tourist L type. First, he needs to prepare his passport and copy of its data page, a completed application form, and a passport-style photo, round trip air tickets, and hotel booking record or an invitation letter from you. Then, apply for a tourist L type from his country for visiting you in Shanghai.
