About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I qualify for the 144 hour visa free visit?

I will be travelling to Shanghai (from Hong Kong) staying for 24 hours then boarding a cruise to Japan for 8 days.
The cruise then returns to Shanghai, I will be staying for 8 hours and airlining to Hong Kong.
