US citizen get Chinese Visa

Hi! I am a US resident on a 90 visa in Indonesia. Can I get a Chinese tourist L from the Chinese embassy in Jarkarta? I would like to go to China for 10 days. And do I need proof of travel to and from China? Any info on this would be appreciated! Thank you!
