About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I travel between Shanghai and Beijing with the 144 hour free transit on domestic flight?

I plan to enter Shanghai on a transit G from japan. My return flight back to London is a connection via Beijing (2hour stop over)
Is that allowed? I am with Air China and they don't fly directly from Shanghai
Thank you

That route is not allowed under 144 hours transit without visa (which is not a visa). You need a visa or you must change your flights.
