My wife and I are arriving in Shanghai by air on Oct. 17 to remain overnight and board the Coral Princess cruise ship on Oct. 18. Leaving Shanghai Oct. 18 to proceed to Okinawa arriving on Oct. 20 for a port visit and then proceed to Taipei on Oct 21, Hong Kong Oct. 23 then various Pacific ports enroute back to Los Angles, CA. Please advise if we need to apply for the 144 hour free transit upon arrival in Shanghai.John Bowers

USA > Shanghai by air and then Shanghai > Japan by boat is allowed under Transit Without Visa.
