visa approval without plane ticketshotel reservation

Question

My family will be going to China in 3 weeks to adopt our son. We have a Letter of Confirmation for the adoption from the CCCWA, but as of yet no plane tickets or hotel reservations. Will this be enough to get a visa?

Hi, if you can show an invitation letter from China, you don't need to have plane tickets or hotel reservations for applying for the Chinese visa, I suppose.

As it turned out, our confirmation letter was not enough. We have to have proof of our plane tickets and hotel reservation in order to be granted a visa.
