Hi there do I need to book the flights before applying for the visa or just have a booking that we will be doing like dates ect. Also it is just me and my husband planning on going do we both apply for L?

Hi, you can just provide the booking for the application. Both you and your husband need to apply for tourist L type for the trip to mainland China.
