About:China Customs Declaration

I am travelling through Japan on my way to China then back to NZ.

I want to purchase a Japanese Kitchen knife whilst I am in Osaka. Will I be allowed to bring it in and out of China, or will they confiscate?

Yes, you can. But you have to put it in your checked luggage.
