20 hours transit in beijing

Question

We are 3 adults will have flight from Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) to Houston (USA) with Air China and we will have 20 hours transit in Beijing. Are we allowed to have 24 free transit permit to visit some sightseeing in Beijing and sleep in a nearby airport hotel until next morning? (we arrive Beijing at 11.35AM and the next flight to Houston is 7.05AM the next day). Thank you.
