About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

we have a 26 hour layover in china before flying to the philippines.

We are travelling to the Philippines from Canada and we have a 26hour layover in shanghai china. Do we need a visa even if we will just stay in the airport? our canadian citizenship application is on process so we are still holding a Philippine passport at the time of travel.

Hi, as you currently have Philippine passports, you won't qualify for the free transit policy in this trip. You are supposed to apply for a visa for that before your trip.
