About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Clarification on flight leaving China

We will arrive in Beijing and take flight to Cambodia less than 72 hours after arrival. Flight to Cambodia has a short stop/change planes in another Chinese city before proceeding on to Cambodia. Is this okay for 72 hr requirements?

It is not okay. Two stops in China limits you to 24 hours transit without visa.

If I route through Hong Kong instead would that qualify for the 72hr? Thanks!

If your travel route would be USA-Beijing-HK-Cambodia, you can use the free transit in Beijing. Don't worry.
