About:Top 8 Reasons Why Your China Visa Gets Rejected

was granted with M instead of L

Hello, I applied for a tourist L to mainland China with an invitation letter from my Chinese citizen friend. all documents submitted stated that my purpose for travel is for tourism. I don't get it why they issued me with M .. should I cancel it and apply for an L or can I use it for tourism? It's only single entry and duration of stay is 14days. I am a Philippine passport holder.

April, if your travel in mainland China for less than 14 days, I don't think you need to change the M type into an L type. You can use the current M type for tourism.

So should I check the *for tourism* box at the immigration? Or the "business/conference"

If you are applying for a business M type, you can check the "business/conference" box; if you want an L type, you need to check the *for tourism* box.
