whats the requlation for l visa ?

Hi ,I got L, but I m a student in china and this time instead of giving me F or X they gave me L, because i lost the original copies of my jw202 & the admission letter ! my question is : when I reach there can I apply for resident permit? because some people told me that they won't give me.

I am afraid not if you hold an L only. But if you can get the JW202 and admission letter again after arrival from your school, it is possible for you change your L to X in HK. Then you are able to get a residence permit.
