What are the documents needed for visa application of a Chinese friend who invited me to go there?

I am an english teacher and I have a student who is living in China who invited me to visit their province. I am planning to go Guanzhou and my student will handle my accomodation because he has an apartment. I will benstaying in Guangzhou for 2 days and 1 day in Macau and 2 days in Hongkong.

Hi, you can apply for a tourist L type for that, and you are supposed to prepare a filled-out application form, 2 passport-style photos, your passport and its photocopy, round trip air tickets and hotel reservation as well as your travel plan or an invitation letter from your student, bank statement, tax certificate, identity card, as well as other documents the consular officers consider necessary.
