About:Changbai Mountain

Can somebody tell me how I can travel from Dandong to Changbaishan?

Also, if I would like to stay and explore the mountain for a couple days, where would be the best location to find the cheapest places to stay? I am from the west so I understand some hotels cannot accept foreigners.

The best way to get there is to transfer in Shenyang by train. Take a bullet train to Shenyang Railway Station, which takes about 1.5 hours and the departure time is from 06:30 to 20:30 with an interval about 30 minutes. Then taking an overnight sleeper train from Shenyang Railway Station to Songjianghe Station is available. Three trains depart at 09:11, 17:25, 19:45 and it takes about 11 hours to get there. Upon arrival, take a taxi to Changbaishan so that you can enter the scenic spot in the early morning.

At night, you can stay overnight in Baihe Town. There is a Super 8 located at No. 110 Yuan Chi Road, Chibei District, (200 meters westbound, intersection of Chibei Street and Yuan Chi Road). I think the service is good and the fare is acceptable less than CNY 200.
