About:Urumqi Diwopu Airport

Hi, I'm an Australian traveling to Moscow via Guanzhou and Urumqi in June.

I land at 6am in Guanzhou and depart to there at 8:15am on the same day (2 hours & 15 minutes stop)

I then land at 1:30pm in Urumqi and depart to Moscow at 6:55pm on the same day (5 hours and 25 minutes stop).

My bags go straight through, however I'll need to go through immigration. Am i required to get a visa? I've received conflicting information and am having trouble getting in contact with the Chinese embassy in Melbourne.

I’m sorry to tell you that you need to get a visa. If you also leave China from the Guangzhou Airport within 72 hours, you don’t need a visa.
