About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour Beijing entry and 1 month single entry and exit

Hey - yep me again. So... husband has been successful in getting a one month single entry/exit permit for China. However we want to be able to travel. SO ... could he come in from NZ and get the Beijing 144 hour entry, leave for our holiday overseas a couple of days later, and then when we come back come in on the one month entry permit that is in his passport (cos that would be his 'single entry')?
Or do you think that when he arrives from NZ they will see the visa in his passport and go ah-ah buddy, you use this.
Thanks heaps for the answer in advance :)

Yes, Maree, you can use the 144 hr free transit in Beijing and then re-enter mainland China by using the single entry visa. When you enter Beijing for the first time, you should tell the consular officers at the immigration inspection counter that you want to use the free transit this time. In this case, you can save the visa for your next trip in Beijing.

Make sure you join the 144 hour free transit line when you arrive. If you join the regular immigration lines, they may just cancel your visa before you have time to explain.
