What is appropriate for every day wear in Shanghai?

Hi! I will be in Shanghai this summer, and I have heard that they are rather conservative in dress and would like a little clarification. Is mid thigh too short for shorts? Is 2" below the clavicle too low for a top? I assume shorts/pants are okay for females though if not let me know please. I just do not want to appear rude or offend anyone! Also, what do those in Shanghai consider to be a female business casual look?

Don’t worry too much; you can wear what you’ve mentioned. In fact, the young girls in Shanghai just wear something like that. It’s an open city and it’s ok for you to wear something you wear in your hometown.
