About:China Consulate in Houston

Is Visa needed to visit shenzhen from Hong Kong?

We are US citizens. We plan to visit Hong Kong. We would like to take day trips to visit Shenzhen & possibly other plans in mainland China. Do we need a visa to visit these places?

Hi, it's possible for you to get Shenzhen VOA. If you can get it, you don't need to apply for visa for the trip to Shenzhen. But Shenzhen VOA only allows you to travel within Shenzhen. If you want to go to other Chinese cities, you need to apply for Chinese tourist L type in advance.
