Student's X to work Z Visa

I'm presently a master's degree student in shanghai, I will graduate in this June. I have a job offer in Suzhou city. Do I need to exit the country to apply for Z for working or is it possible to convert my Residence permit at the exit and entry office in Suzhou itself.

Normally speaking, 2-year (after graduation) work experience reference letter is required when applying for a China work visa. Bachelor degree and no-criminal record certificate are subject to notarization.

You can contact the HR of the Suzhou company to know whether it is possible to apply for work visa without leaving.
At least in Beijing, it is NOT possible.
