I am going to china as student next year, can I extend my visa once done with school?

I am going to China 21/02/2025 to study a one semester program. When I'm done with the studies I want to extend my visa ,how do I do it and for how long will it be and what is required of me , also is it possible for a student to get an extension visa for personal or tourism??

Before the expiration of your student visa, you can apply for an extension at local entry and exit administration office. But they may give you a temporary type, instead of the student type, usually with the duration of stay of 15 days, or even shorter 7 days, or the longest 30 days.
