Is it okay if I have a different airline for my 72-h transit?

So,

Kuala Lumpur - Guangzhou with Malindo Air
and
Guangzhou - Bangkok with Thai Lion Air.

Hi, you can enjoy 72 hr free transit in Guangzhou, and the separate tickets will be fine. Don't worry.
