About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit Visa for USA Passport

I will be flying LAX to Guangzhou for an 8 hour business trip, then will fly to Hong Kong the same day. Will I need entry permit to China?

You don't need it because you can enjoy 24 hr direct transit in Guangzhou.
