trip from gaungzhou to hong kong

Question

We are booked to leave Guangzhou at 1614 to travel to HK arriving at 1812.Do we need to go through customs before we get on the train. Is there any seat allocation? Are the toilets western style? How do we link up with the shuttle to get to Eaton Hotel once we arrive in HK? We are both in our late 60's and are traveling to HK to catch a flight home after a holiday in China.

The immigration check will be start before your boarding and also after your arrival at Hung Hom. The seats are assigned, you only need to find yours. On some of the rides, western style toilets are available at one ends of each carriages, in some other rides, it can only be find in some carriages, not every carriage.The hotel is not very far from Hung Hom, maybe around 2km. You may take bus No. 26 and get off Jordan MTR Station and then walk to the hotel which is around 500m away. Or you can take a taxi.
