About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

144 Hour Visa Free. Hello, I’m a UK passport holder (British Citizen)

I’d like to enter China visa free and stay for 5 nights. I’m confused with routing, dose it have to be in a one direction, or can it be from any countries. Example: London, Shanghai, Paris. Would that be allowed or dose one have to be travelling in a certain direction (London to Sydney via China)?

To apply for a 144 hr free transit, you must travel like Country A - qualifying Chinese city - Country B, so London to Shanghai then to Paris will be fine.

Hello thanks for your email. So would the geographical locations of London and Paris cause problems? Paris and London are only a few hours drive apart. Obviously I wouldn’t be in transit to a third destination. I’d just be using the rules to access China without applying for a visa! Could the immigration officer refuse me entry? Technically I’d be within the rules of entry - or not?
