About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I get a 72hr. visa exemption if my exit flight has a 2hr. layover in another Chinese city?

I am flying from Manila to Shanghai, and then Shanghai to Canada. However, my flight from Shanghai has a 2 hour layover in Xiamen to catch my connecting flight going back to Canada. Does the layover in Xiamen disqualify me from being eligible for the 72 hour free transit, even though my total time in China would still be less than 72 hours?

You are no longer eligible and must get a visa or change your flight. Two or more stops limit your stay to 24 hours maximum.
