About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

US citizen traveling into Beijing for 72 hours.

US citizens traveling to China (from Philippines --> Hong Kong --> China) for three days to check out the Great Wall and the city. We have a ticket from China to the USA (the route is China --> Hong Kong --> US) after our three day stay -- do we need a visa or do we qualify to not need entry permit?

Barbara, so your travel route would be Philippines --> Hong Kong --> China Beijing for three days --> Hong Kong --> US, right? If yes, you need a visa for the trip because Hong Kong --> China--> Hong Kong is not a transit.
