Can I get a 72 hour free transit for flight then cruise?

I am an Australian, will be catching a flight to Beijing via Beijing Capital International Airport, stay for 2 days and leaving via Tianjin International Cruise Home Port by cruise and to Japan. Would the 72 hours free transit works? Or do I need to apply a visa for the 48 hours staying in Beijing? Many Thanks

You can get 144 hr free transit in Beijing and Tianjin, so you don't need to apply for a visa for that trip.
