About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Planning a week trip to japan from Shanghai and back to Shanghai ok?

Hi, we are entering China into Beijing on a 10 day tour which departs home from Shanghai. We wish to
extend our leaving time after the tour leaves and fly to Japan for a week before flying back to Shanghai to fly back home on the Tour pre arranged extended flight.
This would be two entries into China ? please advise.Thanks.

It will be two entries into China, but if the layover time in Shanghai of your trip Japan-Shanghai-New Zealand is no more than 6 days, you can enjoy a 144 hr free transit in Shanghai, and no need to apply for a visa for this itinerary. So you only need to apply for a single entry visa for the 10 days stay in Beijing.
