When does the 72h start on the free visa?

Hello,
I plan on traveling from Sweden to Bejing and use the 72h free visa period to stay in Beijin, and then travel on to Korea. My question is: When do my 72 hours start ticking? Is it when the plane lands in Beijing, when I go through immigration, or some other fixed time?
