About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

72h / 144h Visa in Guangzhou

I fly from Doha to Guangzhou and plan to take a train to Hongkong to catch my flight to Switzerland a few days later. Am I eligible for a 72h / 144h Visa or do I have to book a flight from Guangzhou to Hongkong

You can use neither of them: 72h for air passengers only and 144h has not been implemented in Guangdong. Then if your transit is no more than 24h, you can enjoy the 24h TWOV.

Thanks for your reply. Am I eligible for the 72h Visa if I would book a ticket from Guangzhou to Hongkong? When will the 144h Visa be implemented? Thanks again

If you fly Doha-Guangzhou-Hong Kong then you would qualify for 72 hours transit without visa (note, it's not a visa). But you have to fly.
