About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

What visa is required? I am flying to Shanghai from Japan.

I will then board a cruise ship for 4 days and return to Shanghai. I will then fly out to the UK. I have a British passport. Can you please advise whether the 144 hour free transit applies for multiple entry in this instance? or whether I will need to apply for a multiple entry visa?

Thank you

Hi, if your travel route would be Japan-Shanghai-country A instead of Japan, and country B instead of UK-Shanghai-UK, you will be able to enjoy the 144 hr free transit in Shanghai in both ways. No visa is needed then.
