About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Trip to Japan

Hi, We are travelling in October to Shanghai for 4 nights. Following this we move onward to Japan for 7 nights and then return to the UK via 2 nights in Hong Kong. Can we take advantage of the 144 hour free transit if returning to China i.e. Hong Kong? Thank you.

That's fine if Shanghai is your only stop in Mainland China. Hong Kong has its own immigration system and is not a part of the TWOV program, and all British citizens should be granted a stay of 180 days regardless of mode of travel.
