About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello, Visa exemption

I would like to do this trip : Amsterdam (HOLLAND) --> Shanghai (CHINA) --> Brussels (BELGIUM). Can I then benefit from the 144 hours free transit exemption if my stay in Shanghai is shorter than 144 hours? I believe I can regarding the fact that Belgium is a third country but I would be happy to have a confirmation. :)

I am worried because of course it doesn't make sense to do a transit in Shanghai to go from Holland to Belgium. But could that work ? It is the only I found to be able to benefit from the visa exemption during 144 hours...
