About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hour or 144 hour

My itinerary is as follows, can you please advise if I should use a 144 hour free transit in Beijing and then when I land in Shanghai apply for a 72 hour free transit? Just trying to find the right combo so I wont have any issues.

Land in Beijing Apr 3
Depart Beijing for Shanghai April 6th
Fly back to Beijing April 8th
Depart for USA April 9th

You need a tourist visa prior to arrival. People using visa-free transit are not allowed to leave Beijing and its surrounding regions.
