144 Transit VISA China - Cruise passenger

We are due to fly from Glasgow to Hong Kong on 15th March to board a cruise ship. During the duration of the cruise, we will visit the following:
a) 27th March 6am arrive Beijing;
b) 29th March 6pm depart Beijing and head to Busan
c) 1st April 7am arrive Shanghai

We are then spending two nights in Shanghai, our flight will depart 4th April at 00:05

I understand You can get a 144 hour visa-free transit in china. Would this be sufficient for us? if not, what would we need?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide

Yeah, you are eligible for 144 visa waiver for twice, both in Beijing and Shanghai. You need to fill in the Arrival/Departure Card before entering China. Then apply for a stay permit at the immigration counter with the card and your valid passport. Then you can freely enjoy ur trip in China.
