About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, do In qualify if the third country is stopover?

Hi there
I'm doing a princess cruise from home Sydney Australia to Singapore then Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taipei Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and finishing in shanghai china. I'm flying out from shanghai two days later then flying home via Singapore. We arrive in Singapore 7pm 08/01/17 we stay in Singapore airport overnight until 11am on 09/01/17 to fly home to Sydney. Does the stop over in Singapore qualify for 144 hour visa even if we don't leave the airport? I note that the 144 hour visa requires evidence of visa to third region but as an Australian I don't need to apply for a visa in advance for Singapore

Your stop in Singapore does not matter because Korea-Shanghai-Singapore is definitely transit, so you're good to go. Chinese immigration does not care whether you leave the airport in Singapore or not in this case.
