About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Shanghai cruise stop visa needed?

I am a US citizen. I arrive shanghai on ship Volendam from japan on april 16 at 8am and depart april 17 at 6 pm and cruise back to Japan. Do I need a visa for this short stop?

Hi, if you will travel like Japan-Shanghai-Japan, you need to apply for a visa beforehand for you cannot use the free transit.
