About:Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles

Applying for a Visa with a non-US passport

I live in Los Angeles but have a UK passport. My husband & I plan to visit China for 2 weeks on vacation, can I apply for a tourist L at the Los Angeles embassy even though I do not have a USA passport?
