About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

NYC - HKG - SHA - NYC

Do I need a Visa if If I fly from the USA to Hong Kong, stay a few days in Hong Kong, fly to Shanghai and then fly back to New York (via Hong Kong)?

You need a visa because you are not in transit at Shanghai.
