About:Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport

we have a 12 hour layover in Guangzhou airport

enough time to visit downtown and take in a few sights late in the evening?

Yes, the time is enough. You can take metro line 3 to GZ Tower and then transfer to line 5 at Zhujiang New Town. Get off at Xiaobei, and you will see Yuexiu Park.

In addition, remember to go back to the airport at least 2 hours in advance before the departure.

Great! I see prior post of a 24 hour visa which we can obtain from the airport. This is still correct and not too difficult to obtain?

Yes, it’s still working! You can apply for a temporary stay permit to leave the airport, and it’s easy to get.
