where to apply for working z type- canadian under studying x type.

Question

Hi,I am Canadian living in China with an ongoing study X type.I have found a job here and they are going to begin the application process (to get the Work permit first).My study X type ends end of March 2018: will I need to get out of China to apply for the Visa?If yes, do i need to get back to Canada or is there another closer country that would provide such service (I have heard it is now impssible to do so in HK)?thanks for your help!

Aurelien, you can try to convert the student X type to work Z type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. If it can be done, you don’t need to go back to Canada for that.
