S1 visa for parent of child studying in China

Hello, I am checking to see if I have a child studying in China and I need the S1 visa would I be required to take an HIV test as it seems you do for work and study but I am not doing either but my visa seems like it aould be considered long term?

Medical examination is needed if you apply for S1 visa, as I know.
