Change of planes at Guangzhou

Hi,
We are travelling from Canada to India. Change of planes at Guangzhou for 2 hour 30 minutes. I have Indian passport, wife has Kazakhstan passport. We both have Canadian Permanent Residence as well.

Do we need any visa for transit? or as its an international transfer and does not qualify for any visa?
