South-Africa-Beijing-Manila

We are flying from SA to phillipines on 28 March 2018. We are flying with air china with a 14 hour stopover in Beijing. Is there a need for a visa? or are we eligble for the 24hour free transit into beijing? Would really love to do a daytrip and some sightseeing.

Sorry to tell you that you are not qualified for the 24h visa-free transit, so a transit visa is needed, which is best to be applied in advance. With the transit visa, you will be allowed to leave the airport for a short trip.
