Hi, what are the steps I must follow regarding collecting my luggage on arrival in PEK (on Cathay or Air China) and then checking it in to my onward international flight on Hawaiian Airlines? Do I have to go through imigration or other procedures? How much time should I allow? My onward international flight leaves at 1:00 AM in the morning. Thanks much!

All transit procedures can be finished in T3. The steps are Flight Arrival - Transfer Procedures - Border Inspection - Security Check - Custom Inspection - Waiting & Boarding. You don' need to reclaim the luggage, but have to go through the immigration transfer desk, which takes only 5 minutes with a fast access. You should spare 2 hours to transfer.

Well, in that case, you should follow the signs to the Baggage Claim Hall and then check in again.
