About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Cruise in transit

We will be in Shanghai for 14 hour, on 24 March 2018.
We will arrive with Msc Cruises, from Hong Kong to Shanghai (the ship arrives at 7:00 am) and leave in the evening from Shanghai to Japan.
Do we will need a tourism L type or can we have a visa exemption?
The Msc cruise line don't give valid informations about this...

Alex, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai if you travel like that. No need to apply for a tourist L type then.
