About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144-hour in Shanghai

It states that an onward ticket to a 3rd country is required plus a valid visa. What if my 3rd country does not require me to obtain a visa? I'm a US citizen and want to fly to New Zealand after Shanghai.

You don't need to show a visa if your 3rd country doesn't require one.
